Safety and Community Guidelines
1. General Principle
Yanvo is an 18-and-over app designed for short voice conversations between adults. This page describes the rules we apply to protect our users, and children in particular, and the process we follow when a rule is broken. This page is also Yanvo’s Community Guidelines — one of the documents you accept when you enter the app.
Harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual harassment, behaviour that endangers children, fraud, disclosure of personal information and illegal activity are strictly prohibited. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours at the latest; when a violation is confirmed the call is ended and the account is suspended or permanently closed, and serious violations may result in a device-level ban.
1A. Prohibited Behaviour
None of the following has an acceptable form:
- Harassment and bullying — disturbing, demeaning or persistently bothering someone.
- Threats and violence — threatening violence, or praising or encouraging it.
- Hate speech — targeting a person or group because of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any comparable characteristic.
- Sexual harassment — non-consensual sexual talk, sexual coercion, obscene content, advertising adult services.
- Any behaviour that endangers a child — see Section 2.
- Fraud and impersonation — investment, crypto or betting promotion, requesting money, posing as someone else.
- Disclosure of personal information — identifying, exposing or sharing someone else’s identity without consent; sharing your own contact details in your profile text is blocked as well.
- Illegal activity — promoting, selling or soliciting illegal goods or services; advertising and spam.
2. Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
Such content, behaviour or communication is met with zero tolerance. Any user who encounters, suspects or experiences such material (CSAM) or behaviour is expected to report it immediately through the routes in Section 4.
This is not only a platform policy — use of Yanvo by anyone under 18 is already prohibited by the Terms of Use (see Section 3) and is enforced based on the date of birth declared at registration (a declaration; there is no ID verification).
3. Age Limit
Yanvo is for users who are 18 or older only. If you encounter a situation where you know, or reasonably should know, that a user is under 18, you must end the conversation and report it immediately. See Sections 3 and 5 of the Terms of Use.
4. How to Report From Inside the App
- Report is reachable from three places: the active call screen, the call-ended screen, and your recent calls list.
- You pick a single reason: harassment or bullying, threats or violence, sexual misconduct, hate speech, scam or fraud, sharing personal information, suspected underage user, persistent nuisance, inappropriate username, or other. You may add a short note.
- You can report the same user once; if you try again you will see “You already reported this user.” This prevents one person from repeatedly filing reports to get someone else sanctioned unfairly.
- When a report is submitted, the active call is safely ended and you are told that the report was received and will be reviewed within 24 hours at the latest.
- For an urgent child-safety concern, use the “suspected underage user” or “sexual misconduct” category; those reports are treated at the highest priority.
- To reach us from outside the app, use the address in Section 8.
5. Blocking
You can block a user, either while reporting them or on its own. Block is reachable from the same three places: the active call screen, the call-ended screen, and your recent calls list.
When you block someone:
- The ongoing call is ended immediately.
- You will never be matched with them again. The check is bidirectional — no rematch occurs whether you blocked them or they blocked you.
- They are removed from your visible recent calls list immediately.
- The block is enforced in the matching queue and on the server; it cannot be bypassed by modifying the app.
You can undo a block at any time from the You tab.
6. Review of Violations, Suspension and Banning
- Every report submitted is recorded and assessed.
- Every report is reviewed within 24 hours at the latest. A report is stored with a 24-hour review deadline the moment it is filed; our safety team’s queue is ordered by it and reports approaching the deadline are surfaced first.
- When a violation is confirmed, the violating content is removed and the offending user is ejected from the platform.
- Serious violations may result in a device-level ban. Attempting to evade a ban with a new account is a separate violation.
- Serious or confirmed violations (including threats and sexual harassment or abuse) can automatically suspend an account temporarily.
- Repeated or highest-risk cases are escalated to human review; a permanent ban is always decided by a person, never fully automatically.
- Yanvo reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account for reasonable cause, without prior notice.
7. Reporting to Authorities
Where we believe a situation involves child sexual abuse or exploitation, we report it to law enforcement and the relevant official authorities to the extent required by applicable law. This obligation applies regardless of any expectation of privacy between users.
8. Safety and Child-Safety Contact
You can reach our safety team directly about anything — harassment, threats, fraud and child-safety concerns in particular: safety@yanvo.app
This address is also visible inside the app: You › Help and Contact, and on the mandatory Safety and Terms of Use consent screen.
For general privacy and data requests, use the channel in the Privacy Policy (privacy@yanvo.app).
9. Related Documents
This page should be read together with the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy; in the event of a conflict, the Terms of Use prevail.
10. Policy Changes
We may update this page. The current version is always published here, with the “Last updated” date at the top.
